A light and fun workshop for parents and children who want to learn and experience unique prints with the help of ink that floats on water. The parent and child work together during the workshop to create the one-time prints and after printing them on different pages we will create insane greeting cards made by you.
The Japanese call this technique "floating ink" - Suminagashi.
Already in the 12th century began to use this technique in Japan.
This technique basically uses ink (permanent and water-insoluble ink should be used) and ordinary water that stands in a container / mold.
The ink is placed very gently on the water and with the help of brushes and using dish soap, "movement" is created in the ink on the water and various shapes are produced - circles within circles, shapes that simulate marble, rounded lines and more and more.
After creating an interesting enough pattern on the water, it can be printed on some paper - place the paper on the water and lift. The ink stays on the paper and produces a wonderful, one-off print.
The workshop is intended for adults and children aged 7 and up.
